Oops.

Yes, this banner is supposed to say “Welcome” but somehow I got distracted and forgot to crochet the L. It is in the pattern. It was in my notes. I do know how to spell. Still, oops.

I was going to redo the pattern, and then take a picture, but then I thought… We are not perfect, and we all make mistakes. I think I will post the picture as it is, without the L, but I assure you, the pattern has an L in it so you can spell Welcome correctly.

This pattern is for a Welcome banner, that has a cross at the bottom. This is a great pattern for someone wanting a door decoration for their house to display their support of Christianity, as well as a great door decoration for a church. The pattern calls for sport weight yarn and a size F crochet hook. I struggled with doing filet crochet with tiny thread and tiny hooks, so I started playing with this idea, and it was so much more fun than thread!

The pattern contains notes for how to do filet crochet if you are new to it, with a youtube video. I did it using 3 dc for each square, but many people like 4 dc as well. If you do it in 4 dc, please know yours will be wider, but the same height if you match my gauge. I’ve also included a link to a youtube video on how to do the chainless foundation dc, which I use to make mine, but is optional to you. Lastly, I included a video about how to loop yarn around the dowel rod if you prefer that finish than what the picture shows. I’ve included both the chart (for those who prefer reading it that way) as well as written out to help those who are new to reading charts know what to do.

Please know that this pattern is mine, so do not copy the pattern, share it free, or sell it yourself, and that includes the chart and the written instructions. You MAY sell finished items made from this pattern. I would love to see pictures!

Thank you so much for supporting me, even with the typo!
