A quick project worked in an easy technique that let you freely draw shapes on the knitted surface.
This hat is part of a set inspired by a heart-shaped graffiti I saw some time ago. The writing inside the heart said: “U can’t B replaced”, and this resonated so much to me, because of a dear person who I lost many years ago that still cannot be replaced in my heart.
Finished sizes: 20 cm height and 50 (54, 58) cm circ. (7” height and 19.5 21.25, 22.75” circ).
Yarn
MC: Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% Mohair, 30% Silk; 230 yds210 m/25 g), col. 00682 Ruby; approx. 150 m.
CC: MYak Baby Yak Lace (100% Yak; 350 m 370 yds/50 g); col. Oatmeal, approx. 150 m.
If you don’t like to wear mohair next to skin, you can substitute MC with a Cashmire haze or a Suri alpaca yarn.
Needles
3.5 mm /US 4 circular knitting needle with 50 cm/20” cable or any other method you prefer to work on a small circumference (magic loop, DPNs, 2 circulars…).
This is the size used for the sample, please use the size you need to obtain gauge.
Notions
1 marker (beg of rnd).
Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Optional: cable needle.
Gauge
16.5 stitches and 38 rows = 10x10 cm (4”) in stockinette stitch in the round with both yarns held together.
