UFO Dishcloth

UFO usually means something else on Ravelry! Hopefully this mysterious dishcloth will beam your dirty dishes away.
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”, and creates a cute and practical cloth in no time!
This pattern also includes optional instructions to treat the “beam colour” differently from the contrast colour on either side (using basic intarsia/colour blocking techniques).
Yarn:
Worsted weight cotton yarn (4) in two or three contrasting colours, approximately 36m/40 yards of the background colour and 18m/20 yards of each contrast colour. Cotton yarn is recommended for dishcloths; but any fibre (or weight) would work for the pattern.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.
Needles: 4.5mm (US size 7) straight knitting needles
Finished Dimensions: Approximately 9” square.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
