Are you a person with a body? Then you can make a top to fit you using this pattern! This isn’t a pattern so much as a million patterns in one. The step-by-step instructions walk you through creating a basic top customized to your measurements and preferences using any yarn and needles. This means you can make one that will fit perfectly for literally anyone! I hope you’ll have fun trying out all the different combinations and making the best top for you. If you want to try the crochet version, another pattern will be available in my shop soon.

Sizing: ??? It’s up to you! These instructions can be used to make a top for anyone, from newborns to adult men. You could probably even make one for a doll or teddy bear if you wanted. 

Gauge: ? sts and ? rows = 4 inches in stockinette… You will find these numbers yourself based on the instructions.

Materials:

• Yarn! Any yarn on Earth can be used for this project, as long as you follow the instructions. A good rule of thumb is that you’ll need more yarn if you choose a smaller weight yarn, and less for a larger weight like bulky.
• Needles! Use whatever size you like to get the look you’re going for. I recommend starting with what the yarn label recommends and adjusting from there. Whatever size you choose, you’ll need a circular needle large enough to accommodate all the stitches for the bust/chest circumference, and dpns in the same size for the sleeves if you don’t use Magic Loop. For the ribbing, you can use the same size needles, or play with the effects of using larger/smaller sizes.
• Tapestry needle
• Calculator (unless you enjoy mental math!)
• Tape measure
• Scrap yarn or stitch holder for placing stitches on hold
• Scissors
