Ultimate Christmas hat
This hat was inspired by ‘Merry, Happy, Whatever’, which popped up on my Netflix feed and didn’t disappoint.
It’s knit in the round but can be easily adapted to knit on straight needles if you prefer. The belt buckle can be knitted in, colourwork style or stitched on top afterwards. I did a combo of both as I didn’t like the pure colourwork version - probably just my skills with metallic thread which is unforgiving in the stretch department.
I think it’s the ultimate christmas hat as it has both Elf and Santa aspects to it and is a cozy fit. I used a combo of acrylic and wool based yarns, basically whatever I could find that was the right colour. It’s DK, which means you can use your sock yarns too doubled up.
I hope to release another hat from the aforementioned series in the next week or so just before Christmas. It will also be a quick knit but will feature some more colourwork.
Happy knitting and please let me know if you spot an errata!
Coming soon: A German version of this pattern and one that is easier on the eyes for folk with dyslexia.
