Enjoy crocheting this square which incorporates mosaic crochet techniques, including only using one color per row and overlapping stitches to create texture and color blocking.

If using a different yarn than the one suggested, I recommend using a hook size that is at least 1 mm larger than what is suggested.

Additional tips:
Count your stitches after every row
Make your joining slip stitch very tight
Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning or end of the round
Make your overlapping Fpdcs a bit looser than a normal dc to prevent curling
