Umbrella Mitts
Umbrella mitts is a fun pattern for the fall, when the weather here in Michigan begins to get colder. The mittens are made with sport weight yarn which makes them warm but not too hot. Using mosaic slip stitches to create a cute umbrella pattern in the mitts, the pattern is more mindless for advanced knitters but a enjoyable challenge for newer mosaic knitters. However, umbrella mitts is not for mosaic beginners, it does requires the ability to read mosaic charts and understand how to knit mosaic in the round, however if you have done a few mosaic projects I encourage you to give this one a try!
Color A (grey): 130 yards
Color B (blue): 85 yards
While the mitten comes in one circumference, the length is easily adjusted. I would also HIGHLY recommend swatching and blocking the swatch. Blocking helps the mosaic pattern lay flat which can affect the gauge.
Materials needed: two skeins of sport weight yarn (high contrast is recommended), needles required for obtaining gauge, tapestry needle, waste yarn, stitch markers
