Weather changes in Iceland are imprevisible: the snow, rain and wind are quick to blend the landscape into an ever changing camaieu of blueish grey, where melted snow, turbulent ocean and agitated sky meet together. We call those changes umhleypingar in Icelandic.

The Gilitrutt colors and motif on Helga Jóna’s wrist warmers and cowl reflect this typical Icelandic phenomenon.
