This is a pattern for a pair of mitts. Both are worked the same, from the cuff up and in the round using the Fair-Isle knitting technique. Optional embroidery details over the lower motif of the mitts and crocheted cuff may be added (instructions included).
yarn:
Shetland 4ply by, Gathered Sheep Yarns; Fingering; 100% Pure Shetland Wool; 96yds (87.8m)/20g
approximate yarn amounts:
MC (Vampires Blood) - 12g /60yds/53m; CC1 (Creepy Pumpkin) - 8g/39yds/35m; CC2 (New Beginnings) - 3g; CC3 (Purple Jam) - 6g or 7g/34yds/31m with crocheted edge; CC4 (Ghoulish Cocktail) - 6g/30yds/27m; scraps for embroidery
needles:
2.5mm (us no 1.5) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 4
3.0mm (us no 2.5) DPNs 6in/15cm; set of 4
gauge: 28 sts x 28 rows = 4in/10cm
measured over stranded stockinette (change needles, if needed, to keep stitch gauge throughout)
approximate finished size:
knuckle circumference - 5.5 (7.5, 9.25) in/14 (19, 23.5) cm
full length without crochet edge - 6.75 - 8.5 in/17 - 21.5 cm
You may make adjustments to any of the sizes above, by changing needle size. There are 2 Charts for 2 lengths for size XS.
