Unchained is a sock pattern using Colors That Climb, or vertically-stranded color work. A three-page tutorial is included in the pattern. In the sock pictured, two solid contrast colors mingle with a solid main color. Many coloring options are possible, including using a variegated contrast yarn, so feel free to try your own ideas. This type of color work does not inhibit the elasticity of the fabric and is perfect for socks.
Top-down with a garter stitch heel flap and a lovely edge to the heel flap.
Pattern uses Stitch-Maps. Written instructions are also provided.

Contrast color options:

  • 25 yards (22 m) fingering weight yarn, variegated (pictured), or solid, or

  • a combination or two to eight colors of fingering weight yarn. Each sock has four columns of color- be creative. Something from your stash of Plucky Feet or Plucky Primo Fingering is perfect. Contrast yarn is also used in the decorative two-color version of Channel Island cast on.
