Inspiration

The sweater started out as an experiment with brioche stitch, introducing a horizontal line into the traditional verticality of brioche. The result is a 3-dimensional grid-like texture.

Notes on construction
The sweater is worked top down seamlessly. Short rows at the back and sides of the neckband are worked to shape a slightly higher back. The ribbing at the bottom of the body is split into front and back and trimmed with an i-cord edging on either side. The sample is knit holding a fingering and a lace weight yarn double.

Yarn
Yarn A: West Wool Bicycle, fingering weight yarn (100 g / 350 m; 3.53 oz / 360 yds; 90% Merino 10% Texel).
Yarn B: West Wool Glowhair, lace weight yarn (50 g / 400 m; 1.76 oz / 437 yds; 72% Mohair, 28% Silk).

YA (fingering weight): 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins in colour Roswitha.
YB (lace weight): 3 (3, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins in colour Roswitha.
Amounts may vary because the type of yarn, personal gauge, and any changes you made to the pattern.

Needles
3 mm / 60 cm and 100 cm US 2.5 / 24” and 40” circular needles or DPNs or the required needle size to obtain the correct gauge for the body and sleeves.
2,25 mm / 40 cm and 100cm US 1 / 16” and 40” circular needle or DPNs or the required needle size to obtain the correct gauge for collar and sleeve ribbing.

Other notions
Tapestry needle, 8 stitch markers, leftover yarn or stitch holders.

17 sts and 42 rounds = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in broken brioche IN THE ROUND with bigger needles, after blocking.

Notas acerca de la construcción
El jersey se trabaja de arriba hacia abajo sin costuras. Se trabajan vueltas cortas en la parte posterior y los lados de la banda del cuello para dar forma a una espalda ligeramente más alta. El elástico en la parte inferior del cuerpo está dividido en la parte frontal y en la espalda está adornado con un borde de i-cord a cada lado.
