Under Cap For a Lady
Examples from multiple periods call for fine yarn and fine double-pointed bone needles. In this version, lace weight yarn and five size 2 needles were used to produce a gauge of 9 stitches per inch. This is a small cap. For larger sizes, use fingering weight yarn and go up 1–2 needle sizes to get 7 or 8 stitches per inch.
