Undersea Wrap
Tropical fish are some of the most colourful creatures alive. They float and flit in glorious hues of turquoise, yellow, and blue, often banded in black and neon-bright color. Seen in their natural environment, they are amazing, but no less so when those patterns are captured in a summer wrap.
My Undersea Wrap design is a playful take on undersea abundance. Knit end-to-end in stripes of all stripes, including short-row variations and drop-stitch waves, interspersed with a few graphic swims of fancy like Angel fish diagonals and checkerboard rhapsodies, this knitting project is meant to be pure fun. Note the dangles midway across. And, come fall, it becomes a lovely transitional scarf.
My original is worked in a combination of Handmaiden Fine Yarns Flaxen (silk & linen) and Sea Silk (silk & Seacell) for a spirited summery sail.
Some intarsia included but not required. A chart is provided.
Approximate yardage: 400-500 yards in a mix of colors.
