A very pretty mile-a-minute style afghan.
An old favorite is given sophisticated style in this mile-a-minute granny afghan. It’s worked in strips of shell stitches, with variegated yarn adding a textured look. The matching pillow features granny triangles joined using reverse single crochet.
Worsted Weight Yarn:
MC (Variegated): 16 ounces (450 grams, 1,050 yards)
Color A (Plum): 9 ounces (260 grams, 590 yards)
Color B (Mauve): 13.75 ounces (390 grams, 905 yards)
Color C (Taupe): 10.5 ounces (300 grams, 690 yards)
Also need (for matching pillow):
Square pillow form: 16” x 16”
2 Buttons: 1 1/8”
Tapestry needle
Gauge:
With larger size hook:
Center Shells (before Edging) = 2 inches wide;
11 rows = 8”.
With smaller size hook:
11 3-dc groups = 8 inches
Special Stitches: Shell; Reverse sc.
