Undertow Triangle
Until the end of November, this pattern will be exclusively available through the LITLG magazine Issue 8.
ABOUT
Undertow Triangle is inspired by the rough
European Atlantic coastline: stormy skies over
massive spraying waves breaking on rocky cliffs.
A force of nature, deep dark and bright light at the
same time.
The DK weight yarn gives this shawl a blanket-like
appeal and makes it the perfect accessory for a walk
along stormy shores. The columns and diagonal
lines create the impression of crossing currents,
resulting in wave shaped knit and purl sections.
The textured borders along the edges enforce the
impression of a blanket and there’s absolutely
nothing wrong with snuggling up in this shawl on the
sofa instead of chasing the storm outside.

TECHNICAL
Description
This large triangular shawl is knitted from one tip,
increasing to one side in every other row. You can
adjust the size any time by skipping to the finishing
border early or just going on to make it even larger.
Techniques
This rustic and textured shawl is mainly worked in
stockinette stitch, crossed by diagonal lines using
slipped stitches and cabled stitches.
Dimensions
The finished scarf measures about 152 x 117 cm / 60 x 46“ (grey version) / 155 x 125 cm / 61 x 49“ (beige version) after washing and blocking.
Gauge
17 sts x 27 rows = 10 cm / 4“ (grey version) / 16 sts
x 25 rows = 10 cm / 4“ (beige version) in stockinette
stitch. For a shawl, the gauge is not really important
so don’t worry if you don’t meet the exact numbers.
Needles
4,5 mm / US 7 circular needle in 100 cm / 39“ length
