Ungovernable Hat
In November 2023, Ohioans voted to make our state a hell of a lot cooler.
This simple stranded colorwork hat is a celebration of that decision.
Do you enjoy quick knits? Are you ungovernable? Does your one weird uncle think you’re an uppity pain in the ass liberal feminist? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, this hat pattern is for you.
The Ungovernable Hat is a satisfying hat knit in worsted weight yarn from the bottom up with simple ribbing, a couple rounds of stranded colorwork, mindless stockinette, and easy crown decreases.
Use two high contrast colors to make a bold statement, or keep it subtle with neutral tones. Either way, you’ll definitely make somebody mad. Conservative aunts will be clutching their pearls at your next holiday gathering.
Techniques
Knit, purl, 2x2 ribbing, knitting in the round, simple decreases (k2tog), stranded colorwork, reading colorwork charts
