Unibear
Unibear is a cute unicorn style bear, born entirely from my children’s imaginations!
The PDF file is 9 pages. If you prefer to print your patterns, pages 4-5 are text only and contain the full Unibear pattern. The other pages are abbreviations section, explanatory notes, photo tutorial for the mane and tail, and additional patterns.
The pattern also includes an adaption for a Panda Bear, complete with bamboo shoots accessory.
Gauge is not important on such a small toy; you only need to be careful with the mane and tail, as pulling your stitches too tight may affect the shape of the hair. I would suggest you lightly stuff the bear, so it will have a pleasingly squishy feel when held. Do use your preferred method for sewing; I like to close my crochet by whip stitching through the final stitches with the yarn tail, and drawing them tight.
Please note that sc (US) is dc (UK) and hdc (US) is htr (UK); this pattern is written with US terminology. The Unibear is suitable for confident beginners, as it uses a magic circle and easy stitches. The Panda Bear is suitable for confident beginners or intermediate crocheters, as it uses substitute instructions and a colour change.
All pattern abbreviations: BL, ch, FL, hdc, sc, sc2tog, ss, TCH.
