Suddenly, baby news: We are going to be grandparents! And this time, it will be different. When you have children, 24 hours in a day don’t seem to be enough. But our grandchild will profit heavily from grandma’s favourite hobby. Let’s start with the basics: a super soft blanket and a cuddly unicorn. Those are, as far as I’ve heard, all the rage with little girls. The right combination of colours is very impor­tant: white fur for the unicorn and light pastel colours (pastel pink, light blue, mint green and yellow) for its tail and mane. I bought these colours for the unicorn and the blanket. On the blanket, they make up a happy rainbow pattern when knitted in regular rows. For maximum cuddliness I have used Chenille yarn that can be washed at 40 °C (which is very important!).

Auf einmal kündigt sich ein Baby an: Wir werden Großeltern! Anders als bei den eigenen Kindern, als der Tag mehr als 24 Stunden hätte haben können, soll das Enkelkind vom Hobby der Oma ausgiebig profitieren. Zunächst mit einer superweichen Schmusedecke mit Einhorn-Kuscheltier. Denn, das habe ich mitbekommen, die sind bei kleinen Mädchen sehr angesagt. Wichtig ist dabei die Farbkombination des weißen Einhorns mit hellen Pastellfarben: Rosé, Bleu, Mint-Grün und Gelb für Mähne und Schweif. Daher wurden diese Töne für die Schmusedecke und das Einhorn besorgt. Bei der Decke ergeben sie im regelmäßigen Reihen-Wechsel einen fröhlichen Regenbogen. Den Schmusefaktor erfüllt das superweiche Chenille-Garn, das (wichtig!) bei 40 Grad gewaschen werden kann.
