0-6 months: ~12 inch x 5.5 inch
6-12 months: ~14 inch x 6.5 inch
1-3 years: ~16 inch x 6.75 inch
3-10 years: ~ 17 inch x 7.5 inch

Material and crochet hook size:

• Sports weight: 3mm hook
• Worsted weight: 4.5mm hook

Preferably to use cotton yarn for the part that touches with the skin directly. It allows more breathing and comfort to the baby.
