The Unicorn Blanket was first designed especially for The Discrete Unicorn Blanket Club 2024.
Each section is joined to one or two of the previous sections. This blanket is a relaxing knit, with just enough variation to keep it engaging.
The Unicorn Blanket can be finished with an attached border, if you would like and if you have enough yarn left after knitting your blanket.

thediscreteunicorn.com has complete kits for the Unicorn Blanket. The kit includes the pattern, you will get a code for 100% off.
And, of course, you can do a deep dive into your stash and use the pretty single skeins.

The Unicorn Blanket is designed for 12 colours, one colour for each section. And the border will then be knit using the leftover yarn from knitting the complete blanket. Find the instructions for the Border in a separate file.
Each Section can be found as separate files, as well as in one large file.

Materials
Yarn

The pattern is written for DK yarn by The Discrete Unicorn. SILVER SPARKLE DK 75% superwash merino, 20% nylon, 5% silver stellina sparkle 100g / 212m
ULTRA DK 100% superwash merino 100g / 225m

Colours
Choose your own colours and have fun. Or use this link for the kit with the original colours.

Needles and gauge
The samples are knit using 4,5 mm needles to a gauge of approx 19-20 sts per 10 cm before blocking.
This will make a finished blanket that is approx 120 cm x 160 cm.
If you knit to a looser gauge, you may need more than 100 grams of yarn for each section.

Pattern layout

  • One big file with the complete pattern.
  • Each section in one separate file.
  • The border in a separate file.
