Level: Beginner
Written in US terminology
Tension: Medium.
Gauge:
DK - 10x10 cm = 22 sc, ch1 across x 17 rows
Aran - 10x10 cm = 20 sc, ch1 across x 15 rows
You will need:
Yarn - approximately 332m/363 yards of Aran or DK yarn (around 2 x 100g balls of Aran or around 120g - 60g of each colour of DK)
Preferred yarn: Hand dyed yarn with complementary colours will give a better mix. Some of my favourites are The Fibre Fox, Made by Penguins, Knit me Sane.
The Aran version I used a combo of Made by Penguins and Truly Hooked hand dyed Aran, and the DK was Paintbox Simply DK in shade 150 plus James C Brett Stonewashed DK in shade SW5
Other favourites to use are:
Stylecraft Special Aran or DK
Paintbox Simply Aran or DK
James C Brett Stonewash DK (for a nice varied yarn)
Knitcraft Leader of the Pac
Scheepjes Chunky Monkey
Any other Aran yarn would be fine. For any other yarn weight, measure the head and adjust as required.
Crochet Hook 6mm/ Size J for Aran or 5mm/Size H for DK
