I have used “I Love This Yarn” from Hobby Lobby. It is a size 4 medium worsted weight yarn. You could also try Red Hearts Super saver Yarn. Stitches used in this pattern are hdc, sc, sc inc, sc dec, hdc inc, hdc dec, sc3tog. There are links included in the pattern to video tutorials of most of those stitches.
