I think I shrieked when the new order of Madelinetosh came in to The Glitter Ninja yarn shop and I laid my eyes on Electric Rainbow for the first time. I can’t be sure though, because I practically blacked out from the excitement and I had to be picked up off the floor. I snarfed up all the skeins of that majestic colorway in ASAP, and just stared in wonder. Such a fabulous colorway needed an uncomplicated pattern to truly showcase the yarn. Every season brings a myriad of new variegations, kettle- dyed delightfulness, and hand-painted artful yarns. I wanted to create a design that keeps the stitches simple, the lines clean, and allows the yarn to be uninhibited.

Size Small (32” bust, shown in the picture on a size 34”) requires 540 yards of yarn. The drape of the sweater creates a slightly dressy, classy feel, with a timeless silhouette, and the pattern is written for bust size 28” (XS) up to 48” (2XL), in 4” increments. It is created in one piece, in the round, top down, with not a single stitch of sewing or seaming. Have I mentioned how much I despise sewing?
