Gauge is not important. I did this using double crochet, but some people prefer to use single crochet or something different. The graph is 8 pages (4 pages across and 2 pages tall).

I started this pattern with a row of double crochet the length of the graph + 4 (2 on either edge) to create a boarder and a base to start with. At the end, when you reach the last row, you will do a final row in your boarder color.
