Unisex Mittens Pattern

A beginner knitting pattern for solid colour unisex mittens with a template for mitten blockers.

This purchase is for a downloadable PDF of the knitting pattern only, not the physical item.

This pattern is for 4 sizes of mittens (S,M,L,XL), knitted in the round starting with the cuff bottom up. The cuff is ribbed and is folded over on the finished mittens. The mittens are knit with worsted/medium(4) weight yarn. You will need 100g for sizes S and M and 150g for sizes L and XL. Yarn colours used in example photos are: Patrons Classic Wool Worsted in colours 77215 Heath Heather, 77252 Dark Gray Marl, and 00202 Aran.

Suggested Needles: Set of five 2.75mm double-pointed needles or 9inch circular needles in 2.75mm.
Set of five 4mm double-pointed needles.

Gauge is 4 inches by 4 inches (10cm by 10cm) approximately 27 st and 33 rows after blocking when knitted in stockinette stitch with 4mm needles.

The blocked mittens will measure approximately:
S: 9” tall with folded cuff and 3.75” wide at fingers (5.25” wide at the thumb separation),
M: 9” tall with folded cuff and 4” wide at the fingers (5.5” wide at the thumb separation),
L: 10” tall with folded cuff and 4.25” wide at the fingers (5.75” wide at the thumb separation),
XL: 10” tall with folded cuff and 4.5” wide at the fingers (6” at the thumb separation).

A template for making your owning mitten blockers in sizes S/M and L/XL is included.
