The Uno Reverse headband and cowl patterns are named after the singular direction change that forms the basis for the design. By switching from right purl twists to lifted left twists, it creates a beautiful, textured sideways chevron design. There are two pattern options: single color and two color. The two color option for each item has its own page of directions following the single color direction page. This pattern uses my special lifted left twist technique, seen also in my Shifting Sisters pattern series. What’s great about the lifted left twist is that it’s smooth and quick, unlike a purl through back loop stitch usually used for left twists. If this is your first introduction to the lifted left twist, there is a photo tutorial at the end of the pattern. There are also links throughout the document to a Youtube video tutorial.

Skill Level: Intermediate/Advanced Intermediate - Knowledge of cables and twisted stitches is helpful to understand the special left twist technique used for this pattern.

Needles and Notions
Bulky: US 9/5.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles.
Light Super Bulky: US 10/6.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles.
Super Bulky: US 13/9.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles.
Notions: Sliding stitch marker, scissors, tape measure, crochet hook or large eye tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Sizing
Headband: to fit head sized 19” to 22” in circumference, or adult s/m. Sizes listed are length (half circumference) x height. Headbands have approximately 4”/10 cm to 6”/15 cm of negative ease.
