The first Unpattern I ever put out was the result of knitterly friends asking me for my German aunt’s basic sock ‘recipe.’

It’s a knitter-friendly and foot friendly design: an all-over K2,P2 ribbed cuff fits a variety of ankles, and the ribbing extends all the way down the top of the foot to the beginning of the toe (no more squinchy looseness in your shoe!).

A no-decrease, short-row heel is easy to work; all necessary decreases are performed in the gusset.
