Unplugged is a cozy, oversized sweater inspired by the cardigan Kurt Cobain wore at his 1993 MTV Unplugged concert. It’s perfect for going out, or curling up to read a book or knit at home—plus it has pockets! It’s a sweater for days with more kindness and less screen time.
Sizing: 9 sizes, 36 (42, 48, 54, 60) (66, 72, 78, 84)“ / 91.5 (107, 122, 137, 152) (168, 183, 198, 213) cm finished bust circumference.
Recommended 6-12”/15-31cm positive ease, measured from the fullest part of the bust.
Construction: Unplugged is worked seamlessly from the bottom up. After the split for the arms the back and fronts are worked separately and the live stitches are seamed together at the top shoulder. The sleeves are worked from the shoulder to the cuffs, and finally the button band is worked as an applied edging, knitted directly on to the body of the sweater.
Yarn: Living Dreams Yarn XOXO, or other aran weight yarn. Sample is knitted in Oatmeal.
Yardage: You’ll need approximately 1100 (1200, 1400, 1600, 1750) (1900, 2100, 2300, 2500) yards, or 1000 (1100, 1300, 1450, 1600) (1750, 1950, 2100, 2300) meters in your chosen color.
Notions: yarn needle, stitch holders, stitch marker, 5-7 1” buttons.
Huge thank you to my wonderful test knitters!
