Untitled #1 is a shallow, elongated triangle shawl with a marled fringe border. The body of the shawl is knit sideways in garter stitch, with alternating eyelet rows to add dimension and interest. Knit with Solstice, a cotton/silk/merino blend, this DK weight shawl is quick to knit but has an airiness that makes it perfect for all seasons.

Finished Measurements: 77” (195.5cm) wingspan and 19” (48cm) depth, plus 5-6” (12-15cm) fringe border

Materials: 2 skeins of Magpie Fibers Solstice (50% domestic superwash merino, 25% domestic cotton, 25% silk; 300 yards/100 grams) for the body of the shawl, and 130 grams total of Magpie Fibers Swanky Sock (80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 378 yards/115 grams): approx. 50 grams of main color, plus 80 grams divided over 2-5 contrasting colors for marled fringe.
Sample knit with Solstice in Tenderness and Swanky Sock in Fior di Latte (main color), Castaway, Harpoon, Hell’s Bells, and Baby Got Black (contrast colors).

Needles and Notions:
• US size 8 (5.0 mm) circular needle (32-40” recommended)
• Stitch holder or waste yarn
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Tape measure
• Blocking mats/wires/pins
• Approximately 5-6” (12-15cm) wide hardback book, or stiff cardboard for creating fringe
• Size G crochet hook (approximate size) for fringe

Gauge: Accurate gauge is not crucial for this design, but if your gauge is significantly different it may affect the size of the wrap and the amount of yarn needed. The sample gauge was approximately 18 stitches and 28 rows over 4”, in garter stitch, after blocking.
