Untitled 2407

This pattern is available for £3.00 GBP buy it now

This is a patio or conservatory cushion (or pillow) cover in garter stitch and stockinet, closed with three buttons and loops. Each side is knitted in one piece. It is made entirely from a scrap ball (or scrap skein) consisting of leftover yarns which are cut and made into a single length with Russian joins. There are four optional edgings: knitted piping, a tassel fringe and two crocheted trims, or you can make it without an edging.

Artwork
The Untitled 2400 series is an artwork which explores a combination of the uncontrolled positioning of colour change points in scrap balls (or scrap skeins), the potential of those increase/decrease patterns which create right-angled triangles in garter stitch and stockinet, and the geometrical manipulation of stripes. In other words you get to loosen up your attitude to colour and conventionality by throwing wild combinations of free or leftover yarns into the quick and easy pattern below, and seeing something really rather amazing and beautiful materialize. (Alternatively of course you can purchase a bunch of toning colours in high-end yarns, or use a single wide-striped, space-dyed yarn, and make a conventional version).

The above gauge is a guideline only. This project can be made with any reasonable gauge.
