Written for six sizes, these mittens are a part of the trio from the Up North collection, I designed socks and a hat for the #lotsofsockskal to support Down Syndrome International. This pattern is written for using double pointed needles but feel free to use any needle of your choice.
SIZE: Child 2-4; Child 6-8; Child 10-12 AND Young Adult; Adult Medium, Adult Large
FINISHED SIZE: 5(5.5, 6.5, 7, 8, 9)”(12.5, 14, 16.5, 17.5, 20, 23 cm) circumference X 5(6, 7, 8, 8.5, 9)” high (12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 21.5, 22.75cm) NOTE: Pattern is easily adjustable by adding/removing 4 stitches.
YARN: worsted weight: (approximately 210 yds per 100g)
Worsted weight sample was knit in Worsted Kelbourne Woolens Lucky Tweed (100% merino wool; 210 yds/190 m/100 g per skein) colorway 058 Light Gray using 160 yards. Pompon or tassel is additional yardage.
GAUGE:
20 sts and 30 rnds per 4”/10cm (5 sts and 6 rnds per 1”/2.5 cm) in Stockinette Stitch
NEEDLE: US 5 (3.75 mm) double pointed needles
Sample yarn used is woolen spun, your needle size may vary if using a different yarn.
NOTIONS: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
