Upbeat Cowl is knitted in the rounds with two strands of thick wool mohair yarn in gingham pattern created by combination of the two colors. The finishing is half twisted and uses Kitchener Stitch to bind. If finished without the twist, the cowl becomes rather plain and simple. For the sample, bright colors were chosen to match with dark autumn and winter outerwear.

Wool Mohair / by Daruma (mohair 56%, merino wool 44%), 50 g 125 yds / 115 m or 20 g 50 yds / 46 m), MC 70 g, CC 65 g. Sample color MC / 12 Scarlet, CC / 2 Beige.
Or Worsted weight mohair yarn, approx MC 176 yds / 161 m, CC 164 yds / 150 m.

US 10.5 (6.5 mm) 16” / 40 cm circular needles or DPN, crochet hook for Provisional Cast On (6 mm or 6.5 mm is recommended). Another needles of the same or one smaller size will be needed for grafting the cowl.

Upbeat Cowlは, ウールモヘヤ糸を2本どりにして, その色の組み合わせでチェック柄を表現し, 輪で編み進めるカウルです. 作り目はあとで解ける技法でかぎ針と別糸を使用し, 最後にメリヤスはぎで綴じます. パターンではメリヤスはぎをする際にカウルをねじってから綴じていますが, ねじらずに綴じるとシンプルな表情になります. パターンのサンプルには, ダークな秋冬のアウターに合わせやすい明るい色味を選びました.
