Updated Boho Coat
This was inspired by the boho granny square coats of the 1960s and 1970s. I used hexagons for the shaping on top and added the squares at the bottom. Using baby yarn gave it a light feel and a nice drape to the garment when worn.
Colors shown: Fairy Princess and White.
Any worsted yarn will work, and you can vary the size by how large you make the hexagon and squares, or by changing the hook size.
The pattern has been corrected to center the collar and center back seam. The prototype shows these “mistakes” in the photos.
If you want to do a pattern including the “mistakes” please email me and I’ll be happy to tell you what I did in the prototype.
If you have any difficulty with the pattern instructions, please email me. I use a variation on the pattern than most for a granny square, so it may seem strange. My version uses slightly less yarn. If you are more comfortable with another version, please use it.
I used a plastic yarn needle to weave in the ends.
I will upload more photos of a garment made to this pattern shortly.
