Uptown Fingerless Mittens
These mirrored fingerless mittens contain an easy repeating motif up the back of each hand, as well as a specialized cuff that fits comfortably at your wrist. This pattern was especially created to use one 50 g skein of luxurious Sport-weight 50/50 Yak/Silk yarn dyed and sold by Good Fibrations in Saint John, NB, Canada.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• one 50 g skein of Sport-weight 50% Yak 50% Silk yarn, or equivalent.
• 2 mm double-pointed needle set (or adjust needle size to match gauge – I tend to be a bit of a loose knitter). Feel free to use Magic Loop method, or two circular needles if you prefer.
• Gauge: 36 stitches and 46 rows = 4”/10 cm stockinette stitch in the round.
• Finished sizes: Small = 7”, Medium = 7.5”, Large = 8” hand circumference. Sizes are referred to as S (M, L) where stitch count varies.
• Notions: stitch markers, scissors, a tapestry needle for weaving the ends in before blocking.
