Uradale Patchwork Blanket
This patchwork blanket is worked seamlessly by joining each square to the previous one as you knit. It is a simple and fun knit that grows fast and where you can experiment along the way. The finished piece is 8x11 squares plus a border. You can choose to make a larger or smaller blanket by making a larger or smaller number of squares. If you alter the number or squares for your blanket, you will also need to adjust the amount of yarn needed for the border.
The pattern is for jumper weight yarn, but can be applied to any weight of yarn (though this will affect the dimensions of the blanket).
Yarn:
Uradale Yarns jumperweight (fingering/4ply) yarn.
Body: ca 620g for 88 squares, divided up according to the colours that you prefer. One 25g ball will give 3 squares; one 50g ball will give 6 squares.
Border: ca 130g.
Needles:
3-3.5mm. If you choose a different yarn weight you need to alter your needle size accordingly.
3.5-4mm crochet hook for casting on. If you alter the yarn weight and needle size, make sure that your crochet hook is at least 0.5mm bigger than your knitting needle size.
Tension
Tension is not important for this project.
Size of blanket shown on picture:
Width: ca 90 cm
Length: ca 125 cm
Size can be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles; alternatively by using a lighter or heavier weight yarn, such as First Clip (lighter weight), Double Knit (heavier), Aran (heavier) or Chunky (heaviest).
