This sweater is inspired by its namesake, a spectacular mountain in Önundarfjörður, in the Westfjords of Iceland.
Knit from the top-down with a modified raglan yoke, creating a V-neck by moving the front section increases from the sides to the midline. After dividing the yoke into sleeves and body, the latter is knit on in short rows, allowing the back and sides to catch up with the V-shape in front. From there on the work continues in the round. Sleeves are shaped with decreases on the underside.
To create accents in the knitting and exaggerating the geometry in the pattern, hold a strand of silk-mohair along with the main yarn at intervals.
