Usnea is a type of lichen widely found in many forests around the world. They have medicinal properties and they are very intriguing living things. I was inspired by their singular shapes, textures and colors. These socks show a lot of texture as well and I hope you will enjoy this heel I created for toe-up socks. This heel is easy to make without having to pick up stitches. It will fit the best on wider feet or for those with high instep.

I suggest that you use a light and solid colored yarn to better show texture.

Usnea est un type de lichen que l’on retrouve souvent dans plusieurs forêts à travers le monde. Ils possèdent des propriétés médicinales et sont des êtres vivants plutôt intriguants. J’ai été inspirée par leurs formes singulières, leurs textures et leurs couleurs. Ces chaussettes arborent aussi différentes textures. J’espère que vous apprécierez leur talon que j’ai créé pour tricoter des bas à partir des orteils. Il est facile à faire sans avoir à remonter des mailles. Il sera idéal pour les pieds larges ou avec un fort coup-de-pied.
