Usnea is a type of lichen found in the Pacific Northwest; many know it by its common name, Old Man’s Beard.
It is found amongst the growth in forests, hanging from branches and growing on the sides of trees and stumps.
The Usnea cowl is reminiscent of the beautiful structure and colors of the lichen growing in the forest.
