To fit a ‘standard’ hand (my hands are small but chubby, these mitts were designed for the slim hands of my daughter. They fit me, just - to make them larger and keep the ribbing pattern, add 4 stitches to the cast on).

Gauge will affect sizing (if you are for example a very tight knitter) - the main thing is to keep a consistent gauge throughout. Standard gauge for the specified wool is 22.0 stitches.
