V bar V shawl
This incredibly soft wrap is an asymetric garter shawl with
increases on one edge and a decrease on the other. Mosaic designs are incorporated between the main color sections. The shawl is finished with a garter lace border.
The blocked shawl is 54” wide (bound off edge) and 73” long. I blocked mine to maximize the width.
The design uses 360 yds of a Main Color and 380 yards of a Contrasting Color. Knitter should have 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn in different colorways.
Shawls pictured were both knit in Desert Bloom Yarn Cozy.
The brown/orange shawl used colorways Velvet Mesquite (MC) and Arizona Honeysuckle (CC).
The purple/golden shawl used Alfalfa (MC) and Smooth Goldenrod (CC).
The shawl is named after a Heritage Site in the Verde Valley region. This site (formally the V bar V ranch) has some of the best preserved petroglyphs in the area.
