Simple, old pattern giving a classic “V” design. Easy-care blanket that a beginner could knit. Using multiple colors gives a 3-d visual effect for added interest. Afghan is 35” x 45”.

In the example in the photo, I did every other pattern series in white (carried up the side). 3 shades of pink were used in succession between the white rows (cut yarn at the end of row 3 and weaved in ends). The result is an afghan that is almost all white on one side, and 3 dimensional pink on the opposite side.

Next time I will try larger needles with fewer stitches to produce a lighter weight blanket.
