I love hat and scarf sets, especially if they have a lot of texture to them. I decided to combine the v-stitch and the popcorn stitch to design this set, and I love how it turned out.

It can be done with any worsted weight yarn, or even other types of yarn if you adjust your starting chain and hook size. I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn in Dusty Blue for mine, then I used Loops and Threads Barcelona (which is a size 5 chunky yarn) and the same J (6mm) crochet hook to make the set for my daughter. As you can see from the pictures, it worked really well for both yarns.

This is a “one size fits most” pattern, but it can easily be adjusted to fit other sizes if need be. This pattern will be available free on my blog soon, or you can help support me and purchase a printable pattern here.
