Vaada Slouchy
Last evening, I watched a lovely rom-com “The Vow”, and in the last frame, Rachel McAdams wore this cute
slouchy and she looked so beautiful, and lost and ooh, it was a tug on the heart strings (no wonder Channing
Tatum was all lost too, or just a great actor? :))
So here’s my take on that slouch – my Vaada slouch – “Vaada” meaning ‘Vow’ in Hindi, and I vow to make this
an easy pattern for you to follow वादा (vada, vaadaa, wada)
The pattern, is so adjustable and easy to make – beginners or advanced crocheters alike
This pattern has been tested using :
a) DK ply (#3) yarn, Vardhaman Millenium ; 50 gms/ 165 yds ; 4.5 mm crochet hook ; ‘forehead band width’ = 4” x full length = 15 ½”
b) Vanna’s Solids, Worsted Weight Acrylic, 0.75 skein/ 100 yds approx ; 4.25 mm (G) crochet hook ;
Comments : Instructions were clear. Photos were not really needed but they were nice to see what the project would turn out like, everything was clear. Great pattern, turns out very nicely. Will do again, probably longer length (did only 4”), and with colours, maybe in border
Skill level by tester :Advanced beginner. It is quite easy with no difficult stitches. The biggest thing was keeping track of your st count / knowing what each st looks like.
c) Vardhaman Millenium , 25 gms / 83 yds in 2 colours (black n brown) ; 4.5 mm crochet hook ; (L) 11 1/2” x (W)7 1/2”
d)Vardhaman Millenium ; 50 gms / 165 yds ; 4.5 mm crochet hook ; (L) 11 1/2” x (W)7 1/2” ;
