Inspired by the beachy Ohio region located along the western shores of Lake Erie, these toe-up shorty socks are simple, laidback, but never boring (Just like the real Vacationland)! Garter stitch stripes across the instep provide a little pop of color and texture and use very little yarn, making them an ideal stash-busting project. And the easily adjustable foot length means they can be made to fit most adult sized feet.

Please note that due to the adjustable foot length, the suggested amounts are provided to be inclusive of larger sized feet. However, all three sample sizes were knit using significantly less yarn. The Adult Large sample (total length, unstretched: 10” / 25cm ; garter stitch instep section, unstretched: 5.25” / 13 cm) used only 185yds / 170m for the MC and 43yds / 40m for each CCs.

Sample socks were knit in a variety of fingering yarns, including Lemonade Shop Mighty Sock, Coop Knits Sock Yeah!, Three Irish Girls Adorn Luxe, and SweetGeorgia Yarns Tough Love Sock.

To get the look of the sample socks, select neutral or muted colors for the MC and one CC, and one bright or neon color for the other CC. It does not matter if the bright color is CC1 or CC2; the same effect will be achieved either way.
