The Vagabond sweater is knit in a top down fashion, without any seaming.
The sweater sports a high ribbed collar and is worked raglan style while maintaining the ribbed shape of the collar through the back and front of the sweater.
To achieve the slight “V” neck look of the sweater the knitting is joined after several increase rows and is then knit in the round. After the joining to knit in the round a cable design is introduced to the front of the sweater. The cable is worked in line with the rest of the piece and is repeated until the end of the sweater.
A note on the ribbing: The sweater employs the concept of an expanding rib, which means that during the raglan increases the new stitches change from being knit to purled in order to maintain an expanding 2x2 rib.
