A fairly simply cabled hat knitted in the round. Pretty floppy, so it’s probably considered feminine. It took me little more than a week during a school week, and used less than one skein of yarn.
I knit it so that it’d be snug on my 17-year-old female head, and you may need to CO more or less stitches to make it fit better for your purposes. As long as you have 72 sts at the start of Round 7, the rest of the pattern will be exactly the same.
I’m sure you can make this pattern work with any medium-weight yarn and corresponding circular needles, the “suggested” yarn and needles I included here are just what I happened to use.
