For June, I wanted a pair of socks that reflected the brightness and freshness of the beginning of summer. Not only that, but when I think of summer, waves always come to mind—waves from wind blowing through the fields around our house and waves on the lakes near by. That’s where the silly name for this pattern came from—vague is French for wave, and the pattern with the chevron eyelets seems somewhat appropriate for early summer nights! The wave-like chevrons, with their alternate textures, are amazingly addictive and surprisingly intuitive once you get going. Enjoy!

Materials:
• 300-460 yards of fingering weight yarn. Shown in francofille knits “Frais” on Normandie (400 yards 100 grams; 80% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon)
• US size 1 (2.25 mm) circular needles with 32” or 40” cable (or preferred sock needles).
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• At least 1 stitch marker (if desired)
