The Valais Top gets its name from the sunny Alpine canton of Switzerland, with faux cable motifs that remind me of the walking through its vineyards on hot summer days.

The top is worked bottom-up (for the ease of length adjustment) in the round, separating at the underarms to work the two front panels individually and shaped with decreases. A cable edge is then casted on at the centre back and worked left then right, joining with the back edge as you go, before forming the back straps. The fronts and backs are finally connected with three-needle bind off at the shoulders.
