This cardigan is a great first project for a beginning knitter. Knit top down, with raglan shaping at the shoulder, it is knit flat in one piece. Seaming of the underside of sleeves is required at the end. The button and buttonhole band is added as you knit with simple yarnovers for the buttonholes.

A handy chart in the appendix helps you keep track of your increase rows for the sleeves and buttonholes.

The stitches used in this pattern are knit, purl, kfb, yo and k2tog.
