This Valentine bactus teaches techniques used in Orenburg warm shawl wide borders.
The shawl is adjustable size. Make it Longer, make it shorter, make it any size you like :)

The pattern can be done in lace weight, light fingering, fingering, sports weight yarns.
For example, the shawl size large made of 2 skeins of Nature spun sports weight yarn weight yarn measures 180cm long, 31cm wide or 71 inches long 12.5 wide in the middle.
The pattern is structured as e-book. One would print to carry with them when they knit 2 pages of ‘Method of construction and description’ part of this 15 pages e-book.
The pattern describes how to make this modern item step by step from gauge to blocking, it also prodived some ideas how to wear a scarf or shawl like this one at the end of the e-book, It’s all about the drape.
The red Valentine uses 2 skeins of Nature spun sports yarn. One skein is knit when we increase the width of the shawl and one when we decrease. Take any 2 skeins of yarn or divide one in 2 parts by the weight, use one to knit the bottom part and one to knit top part, and ta-da. You can adjust the size of this bactus and use any yarn in your stash from lace to sports weight.
Any yarn from sports to lace weight will work for this bactus.
For sports weight start from 350-400 yards
For fingering from 450 yards
For light fingering or lace from 450 yards
For lace from 700 yards held as 2 yarns (to make warmer item) or from 450 yards to make a lace weight small shawl.
Divide your yarn in half by weight and start knitting.
